Betty Blayton-Taylor is co-founder and Board Secretary of the Studio Museum in Harlem, co-founder and Executive Director of Harlem Children's Art Carnival (CAC), and co-founder of Harlem Textile Works. "I am deeply interested in metaphysical principles, all aspects of religion, mythology and the science of mind.
The act of creating, as in painting and print-making, allows the exploration of techniques for the creation of
mood and mind set changes much as in sound and music. The silent two-dimensional image as in abstractions is
non–intrusive and allows the individual viewer opportunities to bring forth his/her own individual subconscious thoughts and feelings". Betty Blayton
