Leon Kelly at the Palmer Museum of Art

We have loaned our Leon Kelly drawing to be included in the Palmer Museum of Art’s exhibition Suspended Contemplation: Drawings and Watercolors by Leon Kelly.  Kelly’s work is highly influenced by his close contact with the Surrealist movement.  Untitled (to Hayter), came to us from the Stanley William Hayter’s estate.  Hayter was part of the Surrealist movement in Paris in the 1930s and it is no surprise that he and Kelly became friends while Hayter was working in this country in the 1940s.  This fine, enigmatic drawing speaks well to their mutual concerns and friendship.
