We have not determined that this fine watercolor has ever been exhibited. It has remained in the same collection since the mid-1960s. The figures are well turned out, beautifully drawn and painted. The tone is mirthful and we speculate that the people in line are waiting for an opportunity to perform. Thrash adds shadows of other figures to the foreground, creating a theatrical atmosphere to this work.
