The Philadelphia Show: on the East Terrace of the Philadelphia Museum of Art

April 24 - 27, 2025 Art Fairs

Held annually on the East Terrace of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Philadelphia Show brings an opportunity to visit over forty of America’s leading dealers, each showing their very best examples in fine art, Americana, furniture, silver, jewelry, decorative arts and antiques.

Our presentation begins with exceptional paintings on paper and panel by Edward Bannister and Henry Ossawa Tanner, both remarkable 19th-century African-American artists whose contributions to American art remain profoundly influential.

Modern masters include works by Philadelphia's own Dox Thrash and Paul Keene; along with important works by Mavis Pusey, Elizabeth Catlett, Lois Mailou Jones and Ben Wigfall, all pioneers working in their chosen media of printmaking, painting and/or sculpture. Additionally, we will show post-war paintings by Jean Morrison, Gabor Peterdi, John Ferren, Stanley William Hayter and Beauford Delaney, all informed  by working in the international art world hotbeds of New York and Paris.

Contemporary works by Peter Brooke, Michael Canning and Emily Mason; along with new works by Philadelphia based or educated, Dindga McCannon, Todd Stong, Steven Ford, and Katie Baldwin, reflect the continued innovation and sense of discovery essential to today’s artists.

Other featured artists on view: Norman Ackroyd, Sam Brown, Lynne Clibanoff, Matthew Colaizzo, Ernest Crichlow, Dexter Davis, Dorothy Dehner, Sam Gilliam, Lorna Blaine Halper, Trenton Doyle Hancock, Stanley William Hayter, Emily Mason, Norma Morgan, and Krishna Reddy.
